Psalm 93 is one of the Royal Psalms; it celebrates the sovereign rule of the LORD as King. The LORD reigns over all creation, including nature and mankind. He always has and always will reign supremely, unrivaled and uncontested. Ultimately His will shall be realized and there is nothing anyone can do to stop this from happening. From time to time, nature demonstrates its awesome power, as it has done lately, but the LORD is mightier than the hurricane or the flood. The sovereignty of God simply means: God does as He pleases, when He pleases, where He pleases, how He pleases and with whom He pleases. I get amused when I hear the deeper lifers and the holiness say, “God can’t use a dirty vessel.” Are you kidding, He has been using dirty vessels since Eden. He used Nebuchadnezzar and he was a pagan. He even uses the devil.
God’s rule is established...The LORD is robed in majesty and armed with strength; indeed, the world is established, firm and secure. Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. The Hebrew word kün [coon] means to fix, to establish, to stabilize, to make firm, to sit or to secure. It is used in both verse one and two. God’s rule is not chaotic. God has affixed to His creation certain laws and these laws [verse 5] are established, they are woven into the fabric of creation. You can sin all you want but you can’t escape the wages. The wages of sin is death: this is God’s established law and it will not change. When our forefathers established our great Republic [that the democrats are determined to destroy], they made it possible [not easy] to amend the constitution, our supreme law. They did so because humans are prone to make mistakes. Sometimes we make laws that do not work and they need to be changed. This is not true with God. The Bible, God inspired word, never changes. The natural laws that God sit in place to govern the universe never change.
The world is in rebellion…The seas have lifted up, LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea— the LORD on high is mighty. The sea is a symbol of earthly power. A raging sea is a force to be reckoned with. The constant, incessant pounding of the waves against the beach is a symbol of the relentless power of evil. The great majority of mankind refuses to submit to God’s rule. To lift up your head in the presence of a king is a sign of contempt. The world has contempt for God’s rule; they want no part of the Kingdom of God. This is the big problem here in America, our cultural elites, who unfortunately control Washington, have great contempt for the rule and word of God. If we had any respect for the word of God, would we be killing babies or teaching evolution? Sorry folks but I cannot make excuses for the likes of Bill Clinton and Al Gore: both professing Southern Baptist. They may be southern [to our shame] but they are not Baptist because they do not respect the word of God. Let the nations roar, let them be lifted up, God is greater than the nations.
God is infinite…Not only does God have infinite power which makes Him the Almighty, His word is also infinite. The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever. [Isa. 40:8] The attack against God’s word is not a new fad, it began in the garden of Eden. This attack on the integrity of the word of God is orchestrated by Satan himself. Have no fear my brethren, all hell cannot stop the inspired word of God. He is the MIGHTY ONE OF ISRAEL…And the Lord shall cause His glorious voice to be heard and you shall have a song in the night, Come to the mountain of the Lord, See His glory and His might. He’s the Mighty One of Israel, His voice shall be heard in the power of His word.
Listen, worship and give thanks for the prevailing power of His word…
