My conscience is captive to the word of God.
~Martin Luther
I am absolutely amazed at the word of God. I am reading it through in the New International Readers Version and enjoying every minute. Above is one of many references to the scattering and regathering of Israel. So much of Ezekiel’s prophecy is history. God did scatter them among the nations and continued to scatter them for centuries. Jewish people are everywhere, they are in every civilized nation in the world. But now, in my life time, I am seeing the regathering as Jewish people from around the globe as they mysteriously migrate back to Israel. In 2014 26,500 Jews moved back to Israel and most of them from Western Europe. Seven thousand from France where Jews are beginning to feel the wrath of the Muslims who are taking over the country. We may have to deliver France for a third time. So the regathering of God’s chosen people is happening now.
My point is this: Everything Ezekiel predicted has either already happened, is happening or is going to happen. God scattered the Jews due to their rebellion and idolatry. He had their Temple destroyed because they worshiped it. He scattered them so that they would stop worshiping landmarks and buildings. God Himself would become their Temple, their object of worship. He removed them from Israel to purge them of idolatry and it worked. But there are parts of Ezekiel’s prophecy that have not been fulfilled but it is coming and maybe in my lifetime.
Had a great visit with John and Joye Tucker yesterday. I could sit there for hours. Bro. John was on the phone with Charter, he wants to see the SEC girls softball and he didn’t have the right channel. Mrs. Joye has a dog that is OCD. If she lays out milk bones {more than one}, the dog lines them up before eating them. They have to be in a certain order. You think I am lying but Mrs. Joye has the evidence. The dogs name is Teddy.
It is 11:00 pm and I have chickens on the smoker. Sister wants BBQ chicken for Mother’s Day. Big Mama has been helping me and she says, “No more smoking for Mother’s Day.” Hey, I don’t mind. I don’t go to bed until midnight anyway. Its one of the greatest things about being retired: I go to bed when I want to and get up when I want to.
