The Only Begotten

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

~John 1:14, NASB

Our LORD {Jesus} came down from life to suffer death. The Bread of Life came down to hunger. The Living Water came down to thirst.

Jesus never wrote a book; yet more books have been written about Him than any other figure in history. He never wrote a song, but more songs have been written about Him than any figure in history. He never held an office or earned any degrees. He never travelled more than two hundred miles from the place where he was born. Jesus did none of the things we associate with success; He had no credentials but Himself.  The only property he had on earth was his clothes. He was homeless for the last three years of his life. Isn’t it amazing, twenty centuries have come and gone and today Jesus is the central figure of the human race.

All the actors who use His name in vain, all the judges who mandate evil by decree, all the politicians who feathered their own nest while betraying their constituents and all the presidents that have shamed the office with their immorality and betrayed their oath of office by violating the very constitution they swore to protect: all of them put together have not affected the life of mankind on earth as powerfully as that one solitary unique life.

To simply acknowledge Jesus as a great person, great prophet, or great leader is to insult Him. He is the unique Son of God. He is God incarnate, Son of God and Son of man. He came into this hopeless sin cursed world to give us a way out. O hallelujah, O what a Savior!

Not even Jason will remember the above blog that was posted February 28, 2015. I am a little pressed for time today. Lord willing, we will be leaving in a bit for a medical procedure. Been having stomach problems for a while. My ulcers are probably back but we will see. I told the doctor what was wrong and what I needed but she insists that we do all this stuff again so that everyone gets their fair share. May the LORD’s will be done.

I hope you have a good Friday and a good weekend. Pray for the YOUTH: they leave for the Scott Dawson STRENGTH TO STAND conference tonight.
