If Grace Point is typical, the MESSAGE {Eugene Peterson’s paraphrase} is not popular with the laity. I know a lot of preachers who like it but it doesn’t seem to be popular with the pew. What is it about the MESSAGE that people do not like? Could it be the clarity? I know this is true with modern translations: many people do not want to know what God has to say so they are perfectly comfortable in reading a translation they don’t understand. The MESSAGE is clear and Matthew 13:30 is a prime example. You are either in or out, for or against and there is no neutral ground or gray area. This not only applies to self-defined areas of “Social Injustice,” racism and equality of the sexes, it applies to abortion, the taking of an innocent life. Martin Luther King, Jr. is quoted as saying, “The hottest place in hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in a time of great moral conflict.” It is my firm conviction that abortion is the most immoral and unjust thing we are doing: killing an innocent baby is worse than using a racial slur opening the door for a feminist. Yet the SOCIAL JUSTICE warriors of our day ignore the plight of the unborn: even if they mention the subject, it is always with a but, followed by their diatribe about racial oppression and gender rights. I grew up in the 50’s when they had two water fountains in down town Athens, one for colored and one for white. That was racial injustice and it needed to change. Of course, back then, we wouldn’t think of killing a baby, black or white.
How is it that ABORTION is a gray area and racism is BLACK and WHITE? You can’t have your cake and eat to: it’s either all black and white or all gray. According to Jesus and I am inclined to agree with Him, the world is BLACK and WHITE and there is no gray in any area whether it be racial oppression, spousal abuse, child abuse, sexual perversion, or the taking of an innocent life for the sake of convenience. We don’t get to pick and choose. Why is that folks who are hung up on racial oppression care nothing about the unborn? What applies to one form of oppression and injustice, applies to all and it is pure hypocrisy for us to make distinctions.
The path of unrighteousness will not produce a righteous outcome personally or in society. Right ends do not justify wrong means: the ends never justify the means. The demos are smug about their use of propaganda because they believe in the results it produces. The problem is, the results of propaganda are never good. Hitler was a master at the use of propaganda and so were the Soviets: what good came from it? Getting the gospel to the world is a worthy cause but having a draw-down to raise money for missions is totally unacceptable. This is not God’s way: it is the wrong way–always the wrong way. So don’t be a hypocrite and cry “Gray Area” when it suits you. You don’t make the determination: God does or has–its already settled.
We need to pray for God to raise up a leader, A Gideon of sorts to lead the SBC. The Calvinist with their social justice crusade are destroying one of the best tools we have of getting the gospel to the world. Russel Moore should have been fired two years ago: matter of fact he should not have been appointed. He is a “Never Trumper” and is in bed with the Clinton’s and now we find out that he is connected to George Soros. George Soros is a Christ hating Jew. He changed his name so you would not know. He is a global who wants our borders destroyed. He doesn’t seem to be concerned about destroying any borders except those of the United States. He is a modern day Sadducee. He believes in money and power. He is an elitist. He was behind BLACK LIVES MATTER and he is behind the resettlement of refugees in America. He hates America. He is a hypocrite with dual citizenship: he only comes here to stir the stink.
We need also to pray for our President who seems to have more sense than the leaders of the SBC. If we don’t get the borders secure, America as we know it will cease to exist.
