He Restores My Soul

SCRIPTURE

He restores my soul.

~Psalm 23:3, NKJV

QUOTE

“My soul is restless until it finds rest in Thee, O God.”

~Augustine

The word psychiatry is a compound word. It comes from two Greek words–psyche, which means ‘soul’ and  iatreia which means treatment, healing or restoration. David uses both words in Psalm 23:3 when he says, “The LORD restores my soul.”  David proclaims the LORD as the healer of the mind. Charles Allen said, “The mind that thinks error is a sick mind.” If Allen is correct, there are a lot of sick minds these days. If you think killing a baby is acceptable, you have a sick mind. If you think two men living together constitutes a marriage and family, you have a sick mind. One thing is certain, only Jesus can heal the mind. He is the Restorer of the soul.

The above is an old blog, came from November 2013. I had a busy day yesterday and did not get time to prepare the blog. We had a ball at Trunk-A-Treat last night, we had more workers than kids but we had a good time. We got the Senior Adult ladies class converted to a SS room/dinning room. That will really help us out on the senior luncheons. We can now accommodate 40 in the kitchen area without setting up any tables. Thank you ladies for being so cooperative. We want to thank Pat for the delicious jambalaya. Not baby makes it better than Pat. What small rural church has three men who can cook: we are blessed at the POINT.

Well it is cold as kraut and no rain in sight. If we can make it to next week, the changes get a little better. Have a good hump day and thanks for reading the blog.
