Scripture

Now may the God of peace…equip you with all you need for doing His will. May He produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him.

~Hebrews 13:20-21, NLT

You have everything you need, right here, right now to do God’s will and to please Him.

God has equipped you to do His will and to please Him. Wow, what an awesome thought! It is not God’s will for me to do brain surgery; He hasn’t equipped me for such a task but He has equipped me for other things. It is a matter of humble faith and obedience. Perhaps some folks want to see the entire plan but I am comfortable with the Holy Spirit leading me day by day. My goal is to be obedient. By grace and the power of Christ in us, we can please God. I don’t know about you but that is the deepest desire of my heart–I want to please God. I am not saying that I always do: matter of fact, I am relatively sure I don’t, but I want to please Him.

God has not equipped us to please everyone around us. He has equipped us to do His will and what pleases Him. James the brother of our LORD said, Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. It is a fact, we cannot please the world and God at the same time: we have to choose an allegiance. We are equipped to please Him but the choose is ours. Who do you want to please most today?

Very thankful for another good LORD’s day. I would be an ungrateful fool to complain. What a privilege it is to preach the gospel of Christ and to be in sweet fellowship with those who love Jesus. You can’t beat it! Some had rather be at the beach, or a ball game, or in the mountains but not me. I love Sundays and I love God’s children. I don’t want to discourage anyone by being absent. The greater truth is that it discourages me to miss. I don’t have any bad news to share today, PTL. I hope you have a great week. Thanks for reading the blog.
