Stewardship Principles

Scripture

Riches don’t last forever, and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.

~Proverbs 27:24, NLT

We are to love people and use money; not love money and use people

~Warren W. Wiersbe

Well over 40 years ago, I encountered a man who had bought a Super-A Farmall from a widow woman is Allsboro, Alabama. If my memory is correct, he gave her a one hundred dollar bill for the tractor which was worth at least $1,500. The tractor had been in the shed for years and she had no idea what it was worth. He saw it, stopped and ask if it was for sale. The woman needed money more than the tractor so she said, “Yes, I suppose but I have no idea what it is worth.” The man knew exactly what he was worth but he started low by offering her $100 and the poor woman took the offer. The only reason I knew about it was that I stopped to see the tractor and he told me the story. The fool was proud of himself. He bragged about the fact that he could make over $1,000 profit if he wanted to. Will there be a judgement for this sort of thing: you better believe it. The man was not loving his neighbor, he was following his greedy heart. He took advantage of a widow and then boasted about it. Shame on him and those like him.

There are SEVEN PRINCIPLES of stewardship taught in scripture…[1] RECOGNIZE Divine Ownership {Psalm 24:1}. [2] RESOLVE to tithe {Malachi 3:10} [3] RESIST all forms of greed and get rich quick schemes {I Timothy 6:6-10}. [4] REALIZE that the Secret to Getting is to Give {Luke 6:38} [5] REMEMBER the words of our LORD…It is more fun to give than to receive {Acts 20:35}. [6] RENOUNCE selfish and vain motives {Matthew 6:2, I Corinthians 13}. [7] RELY on God for every need {Matthew 6:33, Philippians 4:19}. I guarantee you an abundant life if you practice these seven principle. Instead of thinking about ways to make more money, think about ways you can give more to the LORD’s work and to others. It is OK to make more so you can give more but don’t put your greedy fist into God’s channel of blessings; you will only be hurting yourself. All misers are miserable.

Obviously I am greatly concerned about the upcoming elections. The dems are spending a fortune on commercials but I don’t think it will have an impact. Streaming is so popular these days that TV commercials are not very effective. The only commercials worth anything are aired during sporting events like football but even I watched every play of the Georgia/Alabama game without seeing one commercial. I have a feeling, and we know how unreliable feelings are, but I believe Trump will win in a landslide. I think all the extreme measures the dems have tried have backfired and I give the LORD the credit. Their handling of covid-19 was the final nail in the proverbial coffin. The dems have destroyed thousands of small businesses in New York. I wouldn’t be shocked in Trump carried New York and now they say that California is in play. Yet these liars still tell their dupes daily that the polls are in their favor. I pray almost daily for the LORD to dismantle the evil house of abortion. This may be the year He does it! Wouldn’t it be great to take control of the House, Senate and the White House.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!
