The Self-destructive Nature Of Sin

Scripture

Those who plot to destroy Me shall descend into the darkness of hell. They will be consumed by their own evil.

Payday, someday, it is woven into the fabric of the universe.

Perry gave me a book two Sundays back, LETTER TO THE AMERICAN CHURCH, and it is spell binding. I read chapter three last week and made a few notes. It is the story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer preaching in the Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church is Berlin. He was speaking to Germany’s elites on Reformation Sunday which had morphed into worship of Martin Luther. It was the most prestigious church in Germany and all the big wigs had gathered to hear this young German Lutheran theologian speak. They did not like what they heard: he rebuked them for worshipping Luther instead of the Christ that Luther worshipped. He also prophesied their doom if they did not repent. They all walked out that day just as they had entered, hardened and unrepentant. They thought smugly, “What this young zealot is predicting cannot happen. He is a fanatic. He is an extremist.” But it did happen, eleven years later {1943} the British bombed Berlin and the great Kaiser-Wilhelm Memorial Church was blown to smithereens. Bonhoeffer told them they were on a path of destruction but they refused to listen. Ironically, the only thing left after the bombing was the huge mosaic of the Kaiser and his queen. Eleven years is not a long time.

Eric Metaxas wrote an autobiography on the great German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer but in his research he was fascinated by the similarity between the German church of the 30’s and the America church of today. Although the separation of church and state was not an issue in Germany at the time and proof of the pudding was the mosaic of the Kaiser in the foyer of the church {Can you imagine a picture of Biden in the foyer of a church}. The thing that disturbs me is that the mosaic of the Kaiser and Queen was larger than their mosaic of Jesus. So if I were to walk into a church building in America and find a huge picture of Biden and his queen and beside it a small picture of Jesus, I would have a holy fit. It wouldn’t be as big of a fit but if it was Ronald and Nancy Reagan, I would have a fit. Anytime something becomes larger than Jesus in your life, there is a problem. But this is another subject for another day. The point I wish to make is the destructive nature of sin and rebellion. Once you shake your fist in God’s face and set your will against His, you are doomed. David understood the penalty of rebellion; he saw what it did to his family and specifically his son Absalom. Once a person in pride takes on the Almighty, he or she is going down. It is simply a matter of time. This is what Bonhoeffer saw among the German elites, contempt for God and it frightened him. He tried to communicate his fear to them but it was like water off of a ducks back.

The American church and their leaders are doing exactly was pastors and leaders did in Germany. Instead of denouncing the evils of Marxism, as they refused to denounce Hitler’s socialism, we are hiding under the cloak of the “gospel.” The term gospel has been redefined by the left: it means preachers are to stick to the gospel unless they feel burdened to address the issue of ‘social justice’ which is also an invented term which means you speak out against slavery, oppression, racism and inclusion. We are not to denounce sins like homosexuality and other types of sexual perversion. We are certainly not to endorse or favor any political party on any issue, not even abortion, unless of course we endorse social justice [which is the same as endorsing the Democratic Party].

This is horse manure. Killing babies is immoral and pure evil and I will not say otherwise. What the left has succeeded in doing is to mute us on all the social evils that are destroying lives in particular and the nation as a whole. If we address addictions–we are judgmental. If we talk about abortion–we are haters. If we disagree with the left on any issue–we are racist. You know what, I don’t give a rip what they call me; my call is to tell the truth. It sounds real spiritual to say, “I just stick to the gospel,” but for the preachers I know, it is simply an excuse. They are afraid to be honest. They are afraid they will offend someone or be called a radical or an extremist or racist. We are no different from the German pastors who kept silent during another kind of holocaust. Most Jews will not admit it but ABORTION is a holocaust and in terms of lives destroyed, worse than the one that took place in Germany. Margret Sanger and Planned Parenthood is the most racist group in America. You doubt me! Research it, and then you can apologize for doubting me. What are you going to say to the JUDGE when you stand before Him and He says, “Did you speak up for those who could not speak for themselves; ensuring justice for those being crushed?” {Proverbs 31:8}

A bit long today, but when I get going on this subject, I can’t shut up. It is a good book. Congratulations to Coach Saban and family. I think he made a wise decision. Alabama fans can’t complain. We should be thankful. It came at a. perfect time for me. I am losing interest in college football. It is semi-pro now with the NIL and the transfer portal. I don’t care for it.

Junior Hill

Junior was in revival with us at the Cash Baptist Church in Lena, Mississippi. We were schedule to eat at the Rhinewalt home and Marie was our host. She and Charles lived in a ranch style home with a huge family room on one end and bed rooms on the other. There was a door between the two. June told Junior in advance, “This woman is not a good house keeper so do not say anything about the house.She will have the big room in order but the rest of the house will be untidy so please don’t do the housekeeping joke.”  He was bad to say, “This house is not near as nasty as June said it would be.” So she threatened him before we got to the house. We are eating and Junior said, “These green beans are not nearly as greasy as June said they would be.” She could have killed him.Junior carried a plastic fly with him and now and then, he would drop it in his beans when no one was looking and then during dinner, he would dig it out so everyone could see. He would rake it aside and keep eating until the hostess apologized and offered to get him another plate. I can’t remember if he did the fly trick that night or not but I saw him do it.
