Scripture
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
~Galatians 2:20, NASB

God’s sense doesn’t make sense to us because we don’t have enough senses for God sense to make sense.

Mandy’s favorite TV program is called the WALKING DEAD. When she first told me about her affinity for the program, I thought she was kidding but she was not. Since then, I have run into many folks who share her sentiment. I was listing to a sports broadcast a few weeks ago and both the commentator and color guy confessed their obsession for the program. I woke up in the middle of the night with a revelation, the WALKING DEAD is scriptural. Paul mentions it in Galatians 2:20…He said, “I am crucified with Christ, therefore, I no longer live.” It stands to reason that a crucifixion is fatal: if you have been crucified, you are dead, right? So Paul says in essence, “I am a dead man and yet I live because Christ lives in me.” How can a man be both dead and alive? The answer is simple: Paul was dead to self [the old man] and alive to Christ. Believers are not zombies but we are the WALKING DEAD when we die to self and live for Christ.
NOT I, BUT CHRIST
Lord, bend that proud and stiffnecked “I,”
Help me to bow the neck and die,
Beholding Him on Calvary,
Who bowed His Head for me.
This Day in 2000
January 30th 2000 was on a Sunday. We had a SUPER GOAL Sunday so I assume it was super bowl Sunday. I used Psalm 84 as a call to worship. We also placed emphasis on the plight and the rights of the unborn. This little poem was in my journal. I do not know where I found it.
Abortion rights do not exist, Though legal wrongs may persist.
Pro-Choice is Satan’s lie, unborn babies don’t choose to die.
Lord willing, I will be having lunch today with an old high school class mate Tim Clark. Ironically, I had just written a story that involved Tim the night before he called me. When I realized it was Tim on the phone, I was startled, I said, “Man, what a coincidence, I was just thinking about you last night.” This is my first contact with Tim in 25 years.
Catfish is coming along with the media ministry. He will have the new WEB page up shortly and you will be able to listen to any message by pod-cast. The audio quality is excellent. I listened to Mr. Hardy’s message in song last night and it was unbelievable. Steven C. Hardy hit one out of the park. The C. stands for Conservative.
I am enjoying a lot of things about retirement but one of the things I love most is my LCBS class. I joined the men’s class that meets in the office building. If you are a man, a real man, and you are not attending Bible Study, you need to check out our class. I promise you one thing: you will not get bored. Jim does a good job of keeping us on the subject but there is tons of discussion.
