Why Did Jesus Come?

Scripture

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

~Luke 19:10, NET

Quote

No matter what you have done, reconciliation and forgiveness is possible because of Jesus’ death on the cross.

~Billy Graham {Wisdom for Each Day, p.378}

I am sure that I am repeating myself but the atonement is getting bigger and bigger. I think about it everyday and sometimes more than once a day. Everything hinges on the atonement. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, All of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. Simply stated, Jesus died because of my sin. Another way of putting it is, He died for my sins. Had He not been willing to make Himself a sacrifice {propitiation/offering} for my sins, I would be held accountable for all the wrong things I have done. Trust me, after 73 years the list would be long. If not for the atonement, I would be doomed. It takes faith to believe that Jesus loves me, but it takes no faith to understand that I am a sinner.

Cultural Marxism is going after Christianity. Eventually, they will say in public what they are saying in private right now, Christianity is the bastion of White Supremacy. The cultural Marxist and that includes Biden, Obama and Hillary may be successful in destroying the United States, but they will not destroy Christianity. Christianity is rooted deeply in human history. Jesus–God in flesh–is on record. He came, He lived a perfect life, and He died on a cross, and He rose again. It is all documented and every time you write the date, you are attesting the fact that Jesus is now the center of history. Christianity isn’t going anywhere; it is here to stay. It will be here when Jesus returns to get His lovely Bride. His kingdom will come, and His will, will be done.

Had a great day yesterday; I could not ask for more. Providently bumped into an old friend that I have not seen for over 40 years. Made six total visits but I did not rush. I got home about 9:00 last night. More Christmas visitation today: finishing up retirement homes hopefully. We go caroling tomorrow with the girls and the grands.  It is going to be bitter cold. It will drop 40 degrees tomorrow night. I don’t look forward to this arctic blast, but it beats a heat wave.

Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
