Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
~Psalm 150:6, ESV
Worship in spirit and truth is the most soul stirring, heart warming experience we can have. It is a little bit of heaven here on earth.
Of all God’s creatures, man is the only one in rebellion. The natural world praises God and that includes the inanimate objects like the moon and the sun. The celestial bodies praise God by being what He created them to be and doing what He created them to do. The sun and the moon have always been faithful. These luminaries are constant reminders of God’s awesome power and infinite wisdom. David echoed this truth in Psalm 19…The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world.
Isaiah said…The mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. God is praised by the angels in heaven and He is praised by men on earth and He is worthy of praise. You cannot praise Him too much and you cannot exaggerate His goodness. He is to be praised every where by every creature and we are to do it with all of our being. David danced before the LORD with all his might; as they were bringing the Ark into Jerusalem. I love the praise song MY LIFE IS IN YOU LORD…
I will praise You with all of my life
I will praise You with all of my strength
With all of my life, With all of my strength
All of my hope is in You.
We praise Him for who He is and we praise Him for all He has done. We praise Him with all of our strength and we praise Him will all musical instruments. The devil did not invent music. He perverts it but he is not the creator of music. There is nothing evil about a piano or a guitar or a set of drums. Lifeless, dead, dry, unenthusiastic praise is an insult to God. True worship can never be dull or boring. It is the most thrilling experience we have here on earth. Get out of yourself and get into Jesus. Remember the story of the Prodigal son and how the elder brother could not let go of his pride and self love and go inside to the party. Don’t make that mistake: check your self at the door and join the party. There is nothing like it!
Give praise to God who reigns above,
For His perfect wisdom and infinite love.
His judgments are divine and devout,
His ways beyond our finding out.
So come left your voice to heaven’s throne,
And glory give to God alone.
~James Montgomery Boice
I spent the day visiting yesterday because we are doing the fish fry this evening. Don’t forget we begin at 5:30 instead of 6:30. I love the cool nights but it has warmed back up in the day time. We could use a rain here at 1120 Iron Man. I hope you have a good Wednesday and thanks for reading the blog.
