A Jack 4Can you think of anything you need more than grace and peace. I certainly need more and I want more. Due to God being merciful, kind, gracious and generous, I will get more and more. Peter tells us that we do not get our final installment of grace until Jesus returns {I Peter 1:13}. Between now and then, it will be more and more grace. I love James 4:6 in the KJV,He giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” Note those first four words, “He gives more grace.” Peter said in his first epistle, “God always gives us all the grace we need.” [I Peter 5:10, NIRV] Grace is a gift from God and it is something that He gives again and again.

Peter says we get our first endowment of grace when we are born again but it keeps coming until our salvation is complete. Paul said to the Corinthians, I could have become proud of myself because of the amazing and wonderful things God has shown me. So I was given a problem that caused pain in my body. It is a messenger from Satan to make me suffer. Three times I begged the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, ‘My grace is all you need.‘” I think I mentioned Hebrews 4:16 yesterday but it goes hand in hand with today’s subject...So let us boldly approach the throne of grace. Then we will receive mercy. We will find grace to help us when we need it.

Do you need grace today? Humble yourself before God and ask for His help.  He will give you grace; the grace you need.

  • I was too uptight to watch the final game of the WORLD SERIES so June watched for me. She called me in when Davis hit the two run homer that tied the game and I watched our 1-3 hitters make outs in the bottom of the 9th. I felt certain that was our only chance because they had a decided advantage if it went into extra innings. I went back to my computer and it happened just as I suspected. We did good to get to the series and it was a good series from a typical fans point of view. They said last night’s game drew 40 million viewers.
  • I want to thank CATFISH for upgrading my lap top that I am using at the office. I hit a wrong button a few weeks ago and corrupted some of my files but he has it restored: thank you FISH. I worry Fish and Frankie to death with these computers.
  • As we approach our final month, we are going to take more time off in order to get the office transferred to home. I may not begin until after the revival but I plan to take Monday evening and Thursday evening off to work on my building. I am running out of time and I want to get my books moved by the middle of December.
  • This may be a confession of sin but I fell compelled to be honest: my number one concern this week is the election. I personally believe it is that important. Pray that TRUMP doesn’t shoot his self in the foot. The media is still on the attack. They are trying to make a big deal about his wife’s speech: anything to divert attention from Hillary’s criminal activity. My second great concern is our REVIVAL. Joe David does his best to get the Revival in between football and basketball but the little league parents are fanatics and they have games scheduled every night of the week. They would use the FORTE during the REVIVAL if we allowed but we are not. If we could get folks as excited about JESUS as they are SPORTS we would most certainly have REVIVAL.
