Intellectual Insanity

Scripture

You will see hallucinations, and you will say crazy things.

Any man can ride a train but only the wise know when to get off.

I continue my series on “Why Liberals Are Idiots.” Aldous Huxley, do you recall the name? Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963) was an English writer and philosopher. He was an existentialist which is just a brand of humanism. Existentialism is a philosophical theory or approach which emphasizes the existence of the individual person who is free to determine their own destiny through an act of the will. The human will is the ultimate authority and there is nothing outside your existence to guide you, give you purpose or to hold you accountable. Truth is not objective. It does not exist outside one’s on head. You and you alone determine what is true or not true. As I said, it is just another brand of humanism. But get a load of this: Huxley’s proposed solution was drugs. I am not kidding! He made his wife promise to give him LSD on his death bed. He wanted to die while on a trip. He was also into Hindu myths and other Eastern mystical religions.

Guess who some of his devoted followers were? Many of them were rock groups like Cream, Jefferson Pilot, Grateful Dead, Pinky Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and of course the Beetles. Practically every song they wrote and sang was about using drugs: She Said, She Said, I am The Walrus, Doctor Robert, Lucy In The Sky, Day Tripper, We All Live In A Yellow Submarine, I’ve Got To Get You {drugs} Into My Life, etc. Trust me, there are more. And you thought these long-haired hippies were harmless. Using music as a vehicle, they carried drug culture and the mentality that goes with it to the entire western world, and we ate it up. We swallowed it hook, line and sinker. Later they got into psychedelic rock, an attempt to find a high without the use of drugs with songs like Strawberry Fields Forever. Is this not crazy or what? All forms of humanism are antichrist.

Very good day yesterday. Doug did a great job setting up the message. As I shared with both congregations, I had a rough week and the devil tried his best to talk me out of doing the message on REVIVAL. I am glad I obeyed the LORD. One of the things that needed reviving most in me was JOY and the LORD gave me a double shot yesterday. I actually rode home feeling good last night which is very rare for me. God did not shake the place, but He certainly blessed, and I am thankful.

I have a lot of encouragers and four of them either talked to me after the service or sent me a text. One of them has much greater problems than I do and yet she came to encourage me. She predicted I would have a better week. I am excited about the week’s activities. The pastors eat lunch at East Highland Baptist today and we have the SAV-A-LIFE banquet tomorrow night, and I am a server. It is great to be a servant of the LORD. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
