The Democratic Platform

Scripture

You hate my teaching. You turn your back on what I say.

~Psalm 50:17, NIrV

Quote

Sin is the insurrection of the heart against God: first, it turns from Him but ultimately it turns against Him.

~Richard Alliene

I was reading in Psalms a few days ago and came across this passage in Psalm 50. After reading it, I wrote in the margin of my bible, this is the Democratic Party’s Platform.

  1. They despise the bible and reject it’s authority.
  2. They have rebelled against everything God’s word teaches.
  3. They befriend and give sanctuary to those who have rebelled against God’s law {the homosexuals, lesbians, pedophiles, perverts, transgenders, etc}
  4. They use their mouths to tell lies and spread evil.
  5. They hate Christians, those who honor the word of God.
  6. Propaganda is a way of life; they don’t know how to tell the truth. {media is a good example}
  7. They have completely left God out of their thinking, ideas and platform.

I have shared the 23rd Psalm for a rebel at memorial services but I’m not sure I’ve done it online so here goes. This is the 23rd Psalm for a person in rebellion against God.

1 The Lord is not my shepherd; I shall want as I please.
He does not make me to lie down in green pastures; He does not lead me beside the still waters.
3 He does not restore my soul; He does not lead me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
4 When I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will walk it alone; I don’t need God, I don’t need His word or His Spirit of Holiness.
5 He will not prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; Nor will He anoint my head with oil; My cup will remain empty.
6 Surely goodness and mercy will not follow me all the days of my life; And I will not dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
The first time I heard this Psalm read in the negative, it chilled my blood. Rebellion against God is suicide; it is a battle you cannot possibly win.

This Day in 2000

Went to Athens, carried my sister June Daphney and my mother to breakfast. While I was there, I visited Bro. Jack Freeman and his wife Peggy. Lara broke her arm and have to get a cast. When I got back to Danville, I checked on Chip Matthews who was very sick. Chip was a gracious man. He always thanked me repeated for each visit and prayer no matter how bad he felt. When I look at Mattie, I see Chip.

I have to be honest, I cannot get over this great weather. I wore a sweat shirt to work yesterday but had to take it off around noon. Worked all evening in a T-shirt. I was hoping to get a little tan on these fish belly white arms of mine but I don’t think you can get a tan in January. I am on week 3 of my diet. Just watching my carbs {I love carbs}. Eating a lot of fish {had fried Salmon today}, chicken, eggs {ton of eggs} and kraut and sausage. I sure do miss my bread, tators and desserts. Today is my oldest sister’s birthday. She was born in 1936: you do the math. I had a brother born in 1938, 1940 and 1942. Then Daddy was drafted into the Army and was shipped to Germany {WWII}. When he came home the reverse happened: a sister born in 1947, yours truly in 1949, a sister in 1953 and the baby sister was born in 1959. Pre-war, one girl and three boys: post-war, three girls and one boy.
