Scripture
And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.
~ Isaiah 29:13, NLT

Real people never pretend to be perfect, and people who pretend to be perfect are never real.
~Ya’akov {adapted from unknown source}
We live in a world of sham, pretense and hypocrisy. Many things are not what they appear to be. I went to a midget wrestling event last week but there were no midgets. Welcome to life in these United States. Scientist have come up with what they call the Ornithopter Drone. It is a mechanical flying machine that flaps its wings like a bird. It is patterned after the Swift. Swifts are among the fastest of birds in level flight, and larger species like the white-throated needle tail have been reported traveling at speeds over 100 MPH {105}. Even the smaller common swift can do70 MPH. But the mechanical bird is nothing like the real thing.
The Ornithopter Drone {bottom pic} cannot come close to mimicking the flight of the swift. Scientist have not been able to perfect the drone or make it superior to the real thing. It is a man-made copy of one of God’s fascinating creatures. It is not the real thing; only a dim copy.
What is the point? We live in a world of chaos and confusion and many people are taken in by science and technology and they do not know the real from the fake. I think this is especially true of worship. I may be wrong but my fear is that we have created, by our own vain imaginations, ways to arouse human emotions. I call it smoke and mirrors. It is creating the illusion of worship. We have the lights, the visuals, the smoke and fog machines and the massive crowds but is this true worship. It may be in some cases, I am not in a position to judge but what I am not seeing is conviction and repentance. I will not lie; I would love to be in a church that made a commitment to fake revival. Every single member committing to pray, attend, invite others, sing with every ounce of their fiber, go all out, etc. Wouldn’t you like to be a part of something like that; at least if we could get everyone to commit to something, the chance of the real thing would increase. But we are too impotent to fake a revival. We can’t get every member to commit to anything; let alone attending a special revival service for four straight nights. What would happen if Baptist suddenly stopped forsaking the assembly? Would a crammed pack sanctuary get you excited? I bet it would fire your preacher up. We need a REAL REVIVAL, not a series of meetings.

Rain drops are falling on our metal roof and it is music to my ears. I love the sound of rain. I love rain! Just got home from Biscuits and the Bible with Bro. Jack. Not as many as last week I don’t think but more than twenty and several new faces.
My neighbor Steve Terry is in Decatur General with multiple problems. Please pray for Mary and Steve. Mary is our land lord and a good one. Steve had a difficult surgery about a month ago and was at home when things went south in a hurry. Courtney was not feeling well yesterday.
God bless you, I hope you have a good day and thanks for reading the blog.
