Our Magnificent King-Priest

Scripture

For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty.

~Hebrews 4:14, TPT

Our sin can darken the awareness of God’s love, but they can never darken the reality of His love.

I may just be me and my mood but yesterday Hebrews chapter four in the Passion came alive. I love verse 13, There is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God, for nothing that we do remains a secret, and nothing created is concealed, but everything is exposed and defenseless before his eyes, to whom we must render an account. I have no doubt what so ever that God sees all, knows all, and that we cannot hide anything, not even a thought from Him. This is what disturbs me about our worship, there is too much pretense, too much sham and hypocrisy. We come into the worship center pretending to be better than we actually are: no one has anything to confess. We have it all together. As my grand kids say when they don’t want my help, “We are good.” But in truth, we are not good. We have all kinds of problems but we don’t want anyone to know because of our pride. So we pretend to be something we are not and this has to be offensive to our all knowing Heavenly Father.

Would you like some rest or relief? There is a sabbath rest waiting for believers to claim. We enter into this sabbath rest when we cease from out vain works and rely totally on His wonderful and amazing grace. I am almost finished with George MacDonald’s GETTING TO KNOW JESUS and unless I am mistaken, he believes in Lordship salvation which is so close to a works-salvation that it frightens me. Listen folks, we have problems we cannot solve and sin is number one. We cannot fix this problem. We must be willing to rest in what Christ has done in our behalf. No one will ever get peace by doing. Our enemy is unbelief. To rest in Christ perfect and finished work takes faith. Doubt and unbelief will kill our joy, our peace and it will keep us from the rest we so desperately long for.

With this in mind, we must cling in faith to all we know to be true. For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty. Jesus understands our humanity, for as a man, He was tempted in every way just as we are, and yet He never sinned. So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness. Folks, if this passage doesn’t ring your bell, your clapper is broke.

Extra

I have an ant problem in my office. It is a tiny little ant that I can barely see and they got into my keyboard so I sprayed it with disinfectant and it must have shorted it out because it quit working so I am a bit late today because I had to replace my keyboard. It is chilly here at 1120 Iron Man. It is chicken stew weather.

I hope you have a great day and I thank you for reading the blog.
