Psalm 40

Scripture

Blessing after blessing comes to those who love and trust the LORD.

~Psalm 40:4, TPT

Quote

When Jesus Christ is the source of our joy, no words can describe it.

~William Franklin Graham

I love the Psalms. They encourage me, they lift me up and that help me in my prayer and praise. David had an incredible gift when it came to praising the LORD. I use his words in my prayers. He has a way of expressing the desires of my heart. I read Psam 40 a few days a go and it was like taking a spiritual shower. I read and rejoiced. David says, O LORD, who can compare to You? Wonderful works and miracles are all found in You, and you think of us all the time with your countless expressions of love—far exceeding our expectations! …When you open my ears and speak to me, I become Your willing servant, Your prisoner of love for life. So I said, “Here I am! I’m coming to you as a sacrificefor in the prophetic scrolls of your book you have written about Me. I delight to fulfill Your will, My God, for Your living words are written upon the pages of My heart.” Much of the Psalm is about us but the verses highlighted above in red are about Jesus. O yes, I want them to be true of me but the bible is not about me, not directly, the bible is about Jesus {highlighted red}. Jesus was the perfect willing servant and I want to be like Him. My hearts desire and my highest ambition is to please Jesus as He pleased the Father.

There are some other prayers in Psalm 40 that resonate with me: [1] Keep me in Your truth, [2] let Your compassion overflow to me no matter what I face. [3] Deliver me from evil {Evil surrounds me; problems greater than I can solve come one after another}. [4] Without You, I know I can’t make it. [5] My sins are so many! I’m so ashamed to lift my face to You. For my guilt grabs me and stings my soul until I am weakened and spent. [6] Please, Lord! Come quickly and rescue me! Rescue my friend Ken from a body racked with pain.

I am telling you friend, the Psalms can help you in your praise and prayer time. A Psalm a day will keep the devil at bay.

We are getting some much needed and wonderful rain. I love it. My garden was dry as a powder caigh. I can’t wait to see my corn. It will be daylight in a few minutes and I will take a look at it. Thank you Jesus for the rain.

Donna said Ken ate a half bowl of ice cream yesterday. PTL this is progress. She says they are talking about rehab possibly by the end of the week. Courtney was having a good day yesterday and her dad Billy is back home but moving very slow.

I did not get a count this morning at BREAKFAST WITH the Bible but we were not down. We’ve been running 15-18 last three weeks. We had one new face today and I am hoping for more.

I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog. Today is JACKSON day for Big Mama and myself. I am pretty sure we will do some riding.
