The Second Coming

Scripture

When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with Me where I am.

~John 14:3, NLT

Quote

When Jesus returns, all evil will be destroyed. There will be worldwide justice and complete security {peace}. There will be no more war for Jesus will rule as KING of kings and LORD of lords.

~Billy Graham {Wisdom/Day, P.147}

Some people have Jesus returning more than once. I major on the fact that He is returning– once, twice it doesn’t matter to me so long as He comes. The world does not believe He is coming at all. Peter warned us that in the last days there would be those who make fun of us for believing that Jesus will return and restore order to creation. Peter said, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.” I firmly believe that Jesus is either coming for me or I am going to Him and anyway you look at it, it will be soon. My desire is to be with HIM.

C.S. Lewis is one of my favorite authors and he said there are three reasons the world does not want to believe in Christ return. [1] First they claim that Jesus’ failure to return and rescue the early church from persecution is proof that His coming is a myth. But Jesus never promised that He would return immediately; matter of fact He said, “No one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert!” Yes they longed for Jesus to come and so they should as well as we but that is by design. [2] The second reason and one that is prevalent today is humanism and the inevitable progress of man. Some {idiots} believe that humans are getting better and that we will eventually learn to solve all our problems. The Jesus thing is a crutch that we no longer need. I got news for all the progressives who believe this nonsense: man is not getting better; he invents new ways to sin every hour. There is no question: sin is destroying us and we need a SAVIOR. [3] The third reason the world does not believe is that they don’t want to: Christ return would cut across their dreams and plans and they don’t want His interference.

I had a talk with my grandchildren about this not more than a week ago. It is perfectly natural for a young person to want Christ to delay. Some want to experience marriage and parenthood which are not bad things. I felt the same way when I was young but trust me, time will change you views. My longing for Christ return grows stronger each day. I am excited about seeing every knee bow and Jesus being acknowledged as the KING of kings. The whole earth will be filled with HIS glory like waters that cover the sea. Wow! I am getting excited just thinking about it. Even so, come Lord Jesus!

PRAISE THE LORD, we got rain. We even have mud in the garden. Since I didn’t preach last night, I went visiting. I could see a heavy system over the Moulton area but I was afraid it was going to miss us again but just as I was coming home, he started raining in front of me. My the time I got to Targum Road it was pouring. It didn’t last long but we got enough to make mud and had a little run off. June said we got more in the night, PTL. Maybe this will break the drought.

Had a visit with Gregg yesterday. His back was hurting and he has not been able to eat a lot. They are waiting on an appointment to the University of Arkansas. The University of Arkansas Little Rock is the leading researcher in this type cancer. Sam Walton suffered from the same thing Gregg has and he left them a large sum of money for research. Let’s pray for Gregg to get the appointment. He would be there for about four days for test and evaluation.

LORD willing I will post this blog before you get up. My legs got the fugits and I had to get up. Thank You Jesus for the rain and thank you for reading the blog.
